Ganesh & Tara

During our second trip through India, we met these awesome guys. In 2012 they had a small shop in Varkala, India where we happened to walk in because we saw some cool harem pants. They now have 2 larger shops in a completely different place. In recent years they have further developed and improved their harem pants in terms of design and model. Now other models have been added as well. We visit them every year and each time we are invited to dinner at their home or even to a wedding of someone from their village. We also go on a fabric and button hunt together on the motorcycle.

Painter Shiva

This artist does not speak a word of English, but makes the most beautiful paintings for us. We use these for our styling assignments. When Shiva is busy with his work he sometimes feels the need to video call us in the middle of the night to show his progress …. The only thing we hear him utter is: Look Look

Ashok

Ashok has the nicest and smallest shop in India. His shop is full of antiques and vintage items from all over India. He himself is a huge fan of the traditional handicrafts that India has to offer. He even has a small museum where he has a collection of all kinds of objects he found. We mainly purchase rugs, cushions and other antique crafts from him.

Mandala guy

Mandala guy levert onze mandaladoeken, kussens en vlaggetjes. Tevens ook de grote vlaggen en decoratie materiaal voor onze stylingopdrachten

Doing business with this man is very different from what we are generally used to in India; taking days to respond, at times getting other products then what we originally ordered. But with this man things go quite differently. He is fast, businesslike, has good suggestions and always answers our questions as soon as possible. He even adds samples now and then of items from which he thinks will work for us.

Mandala guy supplies us with mandala towels, pillows and flags. He also supplies us with our large flags and decorative material for all of our styling assignments.
