White Tara (Drolma in Tibetan) is a female manifestation of enlightened energy; she is very popular in Tibetan Buddhism. There are 21 manifestations of Tara; the main two are White Tara and Green Tara. Characteristic of the manifestation of White Tara are the seven eyes in the head, palms of the hands and soles of the feet, and she sits in full lotus position. Reciting the mantra of White Tara has a healing effect on diseases of body and mind. The mantra reads: OM TARE TUTARE TURE MAMA AYUR PUNYE GYANA PUSHTIN KURUYE SOHA.
